Once you have created a simple HTML document you will set up your account so the Web Server can access files on it and then upload your files. To do this you will use only SSH Secure Shell and the SFTP client (Secure File Transfer Protocol) associated with Secure Shell.

Here's a very broad overview. You will

  1. check and adjust permissions assigned to your Linux directories

  2. make a special web publishing subdirectory in your Linux account to hold files,

  3. upload those files from your PC to that directory, and

  4. check and change, as needed, permissions to files to make them available for delivery to the public through the Web server.

  5. access your file through the a Web browser on Internet

If you run into trouble, go back to the UNIX review an brush up on these skills:

  1. Open a secure connection to your Linux account using SSH

  2. Create directories

  3. Change permissions on a directory or file
