Agenda and Archived Presentations

(Editor's note: Those presentations made at the Wednesday, May 12, 2004
symposium that the presentors authorized for publication are linked below.

The continued threat of large-scale
medical emergencies, disaster situations, and acts of terrorism involving
biological, chemical, and/or nuclear agents has given rise to an increased
demand for new technologies, procedures and solutions which enable society
to thwart or respond to such situations most effectively. The focus of this
symposium is to provide participants with an overview of progress which
has been made thus far in terms of preparedness emphasizing the current and
future role that informatics plays in advancing these efforts. As the speakers
and panelists for the symposium includes representatives from academia, private
sector, government, law enforcement and military communities it is expected
that this meeting will provide rich opportunities for future joint projects
and collaborations.
