Evan Cadoff , MD

Dr. Evan Cadoff is Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, and Chief of the Division of Clinical Pathology at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.  He is board certified in Clinical Pathology by the American Board of Pathology.  He has served on the American Society for Clinical Pathology’s Medical Informatics Council, including two years as Chair.  He also served on the Scholarly Resources Committee working on the UMDNJ IAIMS planning grant.

Dr. Cadoff has been interested in clinical information systems (Laboratory and Hospital Information Systems), and analysis of the effects of information system design on physician ordering behavior.  He has also adapted features of Laboratory Information Systems in novel ways to streamline laboratory operations and improve efficiency.

Most recently, Dr. Cadoff has been involved in testing for HIV, and has emphasized the usefulness of well-organized data collection tools in the public health arena.  Knowledge gained from analysis of New Jersey’s data has altered federal recommendations with regard to public health practices for HIV testing.  Further development of these systems is being pursued actively with other members of the Informatics Institute.
